Turn a Mailbox Into an Unobtrusive Backyard Toolbox. [Outdoors]

If you spend a lot of time in your in your backyard and often find times where you could take care of a few tasks if you had a trowel, gloves, pruning shears, or other small item handy consider adding a mailbox to your backyard tucked alongside a perennial bed.

This tip comes from Sunset magazine's weblog who offers it as a way to keep frequently used tools available yet not out of place. Pick out a wooden mailbox and paint or stain it to match your backyard color scheme. You'll mount the mailbox on a 4-by-4-inch wooden post which you can set into a hole filled with sand for temporary use or with concrete for a permanent placement.
