Military Tuition Assistance Suspended

I chose the Huffington post article cause it seems many on this board think it is the only credible news source ; )

Anyway this is hardly surprising, considering how little support Obama gets in the military, especially if you discount racially-motivated voters. Obama would much rather spend that money on professional victims so that they can major in psychology or drop out with no hope of repaying their debt.

This is why I wish jobs, especially anything to do with government, would just pay a salary and not have most benefits, specifically benefits which are just money substitutes. It's so much better to have a salary in place than a bunch of benefits that can be yanked away for politics' sake, not to mention the costs to the employer are so much easier to assess. But the American public (and probably abroad as well) have this mindset that you can't put a pricetag on certain benefits, like they're some magical alternate form of compensation whose value can only be measured subjectively...

Myself? I wish they'd cut military spending on weaponry and stuff, since that stuff is so much more expensive and doesn't rely on the government for any sort of "livelihood". But hey, what do I know?
